Prof. Daniela Müller speaks at art workshop
Prof. Daniela Müller presented a paper at a painter’s workshop for The Artists in Residence Project ‘ArToll’ in Bedburg-Hau near Kleve, entitled ‘Art and Religion: History of mutual enrichment or rivalry?’ The paper discussed how both art and religion are searching for truth, striving for perfect expression. For centuries the arts had a supportive, even legitimizing function in relation to Christian doctrine. Its subversive role was only later discovered in retrospect. These aspects prompted a lively discussion among the artists and the speaker.
