Dr. Elisabeth Hense appointed to board of Carmelite Research Institute
In May, Dr. Elisabeth Hense was appointed as a trustee to the board of the newly established Carmelite Research Institute in Germany by the Provincial Dieter Lankes. The aim of the Institute is the scientific study of the history, spirituality, charisma, culture and education of the Carmelites. The newly established Institute will undertake research projects that engage the rich heritage of the Carmelites in history and the present day. In addition to publishing works on Carmelite topics, the Institute will organize different events (symposia, lectures, seminars, etc.) in support of this aim. Moreover, the Institute will secure and develop the necessary technical support for the material culture and artistic heritage in the German Province (e.g. archives, libraries, artistic and cultural heritage), in cooperation with other Carmelite institutes (e.g. Institutum Carmelitanum in Rome). The Institute is supported by the German Province of the Carmelites and it is located in Bamberg.
