Coordinator Living Labs
Radboud University
Academic Affairs - Radboud Green Office
Application deadline: 22-05-2026
Responsibilities
We’re currently looking for a Coordinator Living Labs, for 8 hours per week. A Living lab is a real world co-creative space in which stakeholders (operations, staff or external partners) and academics meet to work on research projects that respond to concrete sustainability challenges on campus. In a living lab, research ideas are translated into research projects that are carried out and tested directly on campus by students, allowing them to study sustainability issues in practice rather than in theory alone. Your role would be acting as a facilitator that brings together the right ideas and people to work on living lab projects together across the academic year.
Previously, students did research on, for example, increasing biodiversity on campus, green nudging in the Refter and mapping our nitrogen footprints.
We are redeveloping our Living Labs and looking for a student to join this transition. It’s a chance to bring your own creativity and help build a space for real innovation.
You are enthusiastic about making the campus more sustainable and want to help in developing the Living Labs to have an even greater impact!
As coordinator of the Living Labs, you are responsible for:
- Support redeveloping our Living Labs: research how other Living Labs are built, identify best practices and approaches, draft new frameworks, and ensure new vision is implemented.
- Stay up to date on sustainability topics, help frame partner challenges in academic terms, and share insights across projects.
- Help organize the full project cycle: allocate sustainability challenges on campus, meet with stakeholders, recruit students, and match them with supervisors and partners.
- Support logistics: schedule cycle meetings, book rooms, and be the main contact for any questions or problems that may arise.
- Lead kick-off meetings, quarterly check-ins, and end-of-project evaluations with partners and students to keep everyone aligned and learn from each project.
- Maintain the Living Labs database (simple database of project results, feedback reports etc.).
What we expect from you
- You are organized and can keep several projects, deadlines, and events on track at once.
- You are proficient in Dutch (strong asset) and/or English.
- Strong communication skills for different target audiences (students, researchers, external partners).
- You have strong problem-solving skills.
- You have strong writing skills.
- You have an understanding of transdisciplinary research or are interested to learn about it
- You are able to work independently and, in a team.
- You can be in the office at least once a week.
- You are a 3rd year Bachelor or Master level by start of academic year 2026–2027.
- You can translate between academic language and what partners actually need.
General:
- You have a flexible work attitude and enjoy working in a team.
- You are available to work about 8 hours per week (average 1.5 hours per working day).
- You are enrolled as a student at Radboud University.
