Student assistant for dual-EEG project on language processing in social interaction
Radboud University
Social Science Faculty – DCC - Psycholinguistics
Application deadline: 14-07-2026
Responsibilities
This SA position is part of a project investigating the influence of different visual signals, including eye gaze, on language processing. The pradigm used involves two participants taking part together, located in one room but interacting via a Zoom-like apparatus. Both participants will be fitted with EEG caps, as well as a finger clamp to measure galvanic skin conductance and heart rate. The interactions will be audio and video recorded.
The SA will be involved in preparing the lab for each testing session, greeting and instructing participants, fitting the EEG and finger clamp for one of the two participants, debriefing, and filing the necessary documentation. The SA will also be involved in recruitment, and will need to coordinate with other persons involved in each test session (there are 2-3 experimenters involved in each session). Flexibility in working hours (during normal times) is necessary to allow for accommodating as many testing sessions as possible. Each test session lasts up to 3.5 hours, and we will test up to 3 dyads per week. This means the SA needs to be available for a little over 11 hours per week to work on the project, in three slots of 3.5 hours. These testing slots will be agreed once the SA has been hired and in coordination with the remaining people involved in the test sessions. The SA should be able to start 1st September and be available until December 15th 2026.
