Responsibilities
At The Launch, the startup incubator of the Heyendaal Campus in Nijmegen, we are searching for a new student assistant. We are looking for a student who is enthusiastic, creative, and takes initiative to create & execute (digital) content and assists with our event organization.
Our mission at The Launch is to empower entrepreneurship & innovation among students, researchers, and alumni of Radboud University and Radboudumc. Besides these groups, we also function as the incubator for innovative startups in this region. Your mission would be to help us reach all these target groups and convert them into engagement and leads for our services.
This means you will help create both online and offline content that inspires, activates, and connects the entrepreneurial community on our campus and within the regional startup ecosystem. You will be in contact with aspiring entrepreneurs, write articles and social media posts, create visual content, support events, and develop effective marketing campaigns that boost engagement across our channels. Alongside your communication work, you will help improve how we create content by identifying scalable, repeatable, and consistent approaches to content production. Most importantly, your enthusiasm, creativity, and collaborative mindset will make you a valuable part of our team. In return, we will support you wherever we can and give you plenty of opportunities to learn, experiment, and grow.
The position is for approximately 8-12 hours per week during workdays and -hours, making it ideal for combining work with your studies. You will be part of an ambitious and fun team and get the opportunity to learn about marketing, communications, events, and, of course, entrepreneurship.
Since our main communication channels are in English, the interview will primarily be conducted in English. However, if you prefer Dutch, please let us know.
Your main tasks and responsibilities may include:
- Writing and posting interviews/blogs/articles and compiling the newsletter;
- Creating and executing marketing activities, social media activities (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram); and event campaigns;
- Analyzing and interpreting our reach on the respective channels;
- Maintaining and updating our website;
- Assisting in organizing and executing at events;
- Other general outreach activities, where your creativity is needed.
What we expect from you
We are looking for:
- A student with a passion for digital media, communication, journalism or similar fields;
- An interest in event management;
- Excellent English communication skills;
- A student who is creative and understands/has an entrepreneurial and hands-on mindset;
- Proficiency and experience in writing and creating (digital) content;
- Lots of initiative and enthusiasm to generate original, professional content;
- Knowledge of WordPress and editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop/Canva, Mailchimp and Premiere is a bonus!
Notes about the conditions of employment
Salary scale 5.0: €18,21 euro gross per hour (excl. holiday allowance, holiday money, public holidays and end-of-year bonus). This position will last from 17-08-2026 until 28-02-2027. The working hours are flexible within weekdays and -hours, we prefer you to work at least 6h per week in our office on campus (Forumbuilding, Geert Grooteplein Zuid 41).
