Permission to consult non-public archives

The KDC preserves a great number of private collections of Catholic individuals and collections from civic Catholic organizations in the Netherlands. Our collections cover a wide variety of aspects of Roman Catholic life in the Netherlands, from the nineteenth century up until the present day.

A segment of these collections are owned by the KDC and they are public domain, but another part of it is private. We are only the safe keepers of these archival documents and to consult these you need to get permission by the owner. Note, that it might take up to 10 business days for us to get a reply from the owner.

Choose one of the following options*:

Not sure whether or not an archive is public or private?
Use the alphabetic overview of our collections* to see whether or not you need permission to access the archive. When it says “Ja” (translation: “Yes”), you have to ask permission first using the form above.
