Founded in 1834 by Judge John Reed, The Dickinson School of Law is the oldest law school in Pennsylvania and the fifth-oldest in the nation. In 1997, the law school merged with Penn State University. Penn State’s Dickinson Law offers you choices as you consider three years of learning with legal scholars, ambassadors, diplomats, judges, and lawyers from around the world.

Deadlines for nomination:
Apply for nomination to the International Office Law before 1 March in order to be included in the first nomination round of the next academic year (for both first and second semester exchange) After the first round selection takes place on a 'first come first serve' basis.

Admission:
Advanced students with a minimum grade average of 7.0 may be admitted as exchange students to the juris doctor program at The Dickinson School of Law.

Course information:
All international students are required to take 'Introduction to the US Legal System' (2 credits) which is offered up- front in August before regular courses start. Students should plan to arrive before August 8. Students who come in the spring will take this introductory course parallel to their regular courses. The fall students are also required to take the 'LL.M Legal Writing class' (2 credits) (offered only in the fall). Students may take a minimum of 12 credits and a maximum of 17 credits. Each student will be advised individually as part of the application process on courses.

LL.M. program for Radboud law students
Dickinson School of Law offers their LL.M. program to Radboud law students who have completed their Bachelor in Law (with a grade average of 7). The program contains two new concentration areas: Intellectual Property and International Trial Advocacy.  The tuition fee for this LL.M. programme is waived for 50% or more by the Dickinson School of Law for Radboud students. Costs such as housing, health insurance, living and traveling, are at expense of the student. For more information about this LL.M. program, see this website.
