The University of Iowa was founded in 1847, making it the oldest university in the state of Iowa. The Iowa College of Law is even the oldest law school west of the Mississippi River. The university counts over 33.000 students and has a good reputation in the field of education and research. The university is located in Iowa City, a small, quiet town in the Midwest.

Deadlines for nomination:
Apply for nomination to the International Office Law before 1 March in order to be included in the first nomination round of the next academic year (for both first and second semester exchange). After the first round selection takes place on a 'first come first serve' basis.

Availability:
Per semester, a maximum of two master's students may go on exchange to the University of Iowa.

Admission:
A minimum grade average of 7.0 is required to be admitted as exchange student at the University of Iowa.

Course information:
The student is admitted to the juris doctor program, where they can choose from a wide range of courses. See the College of Law curriculum for available courses.

! Prior to the first semester, there is a College of Law International Student Orientation that is mandatory for all exchange students.
