Getting around

The best way to get around the city is, of course, by bicycle! For more information about where to buy new and second hand bicycles, visit the Getting Around page of the university.

It’s also great to get out of Nijmegen and see the rest of the country every now and then! The country has a fairly comprehensive train network, and you can reach most parts of the country from Nijmegen in under two hours. It is a very good idea to get a personal OV Chipkaart, for which you can then purchase an  ‘abonnement’, or discount subscription (the ‘daluren voordeel’, or non-peak hours discount, is probably the most useful for those not commuting regularly during rush hour: it will give you a 40% discount outside of peak rush hour times (7:00 - 9:00 and 16:00 - 18:30) and on weekends). You can order the card here.
