Jessica Ramos Sanchez
Jessica is from Mexico. She studied the Erasmus++ Master in Clinical Linguistics as a joint degree between the University of Groningen, Potsdam University, and the University of Eastern Finland. She worked for two years as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany, on a project related to speech perception in children with dyslexia. She joined the BabyBRAIN Lab at Donders Institute in 2021 to start her Ph.D. project on active learning and curiosity in typically developing infants and children with autism. In her free time, she enjoys doing long-distance swimming, dancing, writing stories, and participating in activities that support diversity and inclusion in academia and the arts.

Claire Zhang
Claire obtained her bachelor and master in psychology in Beijing, China. Her research was in psycholinguistics, specifically in how human brains process Chinese characters writing. She moved to the Netherlands in 2021, and started her PhD in cognitive neuroscience. Her current research is on the topic of how choices help people to learn better. She loves doing sports, so she goes to the gym, swims, and does pole dancing regularly. In her free time, she also parties with friends, goes traveling quite often, and goes to festivals for good music.

Xinyu Zhang
Xinyu is from China. After completing two Master’s degrees from the University of Amsterdam, she moved to Nijmegen in 2021 for her PhD at Radboud University, where she is also a member of the International Max Planck Research School for Language Sciences. Her research is in phonetics and psycholinguistics. More specifically, she studies the relationship between speech production and speech perception and how the two processes affect each other, by looking at both typical and clinical populations. When she’s not doing phonetics, Xinyu enjoys playing boardgames, bouldering, hiking, doing origami, and playing with her cat Mochi.

Krishna Gopinath
Krishna is an ambitious phD candidate in the department of Astrophysics. Originally from India and with a profound passion for unravelling the mysteries of the cosmos, she embarked on the academic journey and moved to Nijmegen, Netherlands. She currently works on astroparticle physics mostly on cosmic rays. Her other passions include quizzes, music and reading.

Javier Sanmartín Martinez
Originally from Spain, Javier is a PhD candidate at the RadboudUMC department of hematology. He studied Biomedical Sciences at both the Bachelor´s and Master´s levels with a specialization on Genetics and Genomics. Before starting as a PhD candidate in Nijmegen, he performed an internship project on the use of mass spectrometry for the analysis of knee osteoarthritis in Maastricht. His current project revolves around the role of glycans (proteins modified with sugar molecules) in the development of acute myeloid leukemia, and the possible therapeutic strategies derived from them. Next to biomedicine, his other passions include music and dancing, so on his free time he can be found attending live music sessions or dancing some salsa or bachata.
