You can choose to buy your groceries from supermarkets or from local stores such as greengrocers, bakeries, butchers etc. You will find these - mostly privately owned - shops in most neighbourhoods, clustered together.

Supermarkets

In the Netherlands there is a large variety of supermarket chains. Most supermarkets open from 8:00 - 20:00 on Monday - Saturday and some open on Sundays from 12:00 - 17:00. Please check your local supermarket for more detailed information.

General supermarket chains in the Nijmegen area are Albert Heijn, COOP, Jan Linders, Jumbo and Spar.
Budget supermarkets are Aldi and Lidl.
There is a Spar University shop on the Radboud University campus. Unfortunately, it is temporarily closed due to corona.
